- This announcement constitutes the synopsis only. The Government is anticipating awarding a commercial performance service based contract for appliance repair services. Contractor will be required to provide all management, tools, supplies, parts, equipment, paints, lubricants, temporary replacement appliances, new appliances, and labor necessary to repair and service appliances (excluding Military Family Housing Areas) at Lackland AFB, Wilford Hall Medical Center, and Kelly Field Annex. Types of appliances to be repaired or purchased are: cook tops, dishwashers, freezers, garbage disposals, grills, ice machines, microwave ovens, wall ovens, electric ranges, gas ranges, refrigerators, televisions, vent-a-hoods, and washers and dryers (government owed only), etc. Appliances are located in the following types of facilities: Basic Military Training Squadron (BMTS) facilities, Recruit Housing & Training (RH & T) facilities; Technical Training facilities; Permanent Party Dorms (excluding dorms located at Kelly Field Annex), etc. Appliances are located in basements and first thru seventh floors in some buildings. The government reserves the right to add and provide appliance repair services to Kelly USA Lease Back Facilities (east of the runway) at any time. Repair service tasks shall be in accordance with the procedures recommended by the appliance manufacturer. The contractor shall provide minor and major repair services to include, but not limited to, providing and adjusting refrigerator trays, baskets, holders, knobs, handles, range timers, pan holders, clocks, etc.; performing ordinary lubrications; tightening nuts and bolts, replacing components, parts, filters, handles, hinges, gaskets, refrigeration compressors, burners, etc.; and providing preventive maintenance actions recommended by the appliance manufacturer. Repair services shall be conducted at the facility where the appliance manufacturer. Repair services shall be conducted at the facility where the appliance is located, unless the appliance repairs shall be performed at the contractor?s facility. The contractor shall perform repairs and testing appliances to meet or exceed the highest commercial standards. The period of performance for the basic period is 01 Feb 2003 to 30 Sep 2003, with additional 4 option years (01 Oct 2003 through 30 Sep 2004), (01 Oct 2004 through 30 Sep 2005), (01 Oct 2005 through 30 Sep 2006), and (01 Oct 2006 through 30 Sep 2007). This acquisition will be made under a 100% total small business set aside. The NAICS code is 811412. The size standard is $6,000,000.00 million. A written Request for Quote (RFQ) will be posted on this website shortly. The estimated date of issue for the solicitation is 12 December 2002. All interested parties must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) as prescribed in DFARS 252.204-7004 & 252.232-7009. CCR can be obtained by accessing the Internet or by calling 1-888-227-2423. Vendors not registered in the CCR database prior to award will be ineligible for award.
