- Description
- Provide readjustment-counseling services for eligible Vietnam, Vietnam Era, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, Persian Gulf and Somalia Veterans referred by Department of Veterans Affairs. The service provider must possess a minimum of a master_s degree in social work or a related mental health field; clinical nurse specialists are also eligible. Readjustment Counseling for this purpose is counseling provided by social psychologists, psychiatrists, or other qualified counselors, individually or groups, specifically directed at social psychological, or behavioral difficulties specifically related to the post-war readjustment to civilian life. Such difficulties may interfere with a veteran_s job performance, ability to cope with daily life. Modalities of readjustment counseling include individual, group and family counseling; all of which must have the veteran as their central purpose. This service does not include general mental health services, but only provides readjustment counseling for psychosocial difficulties related to post-war readjustment from military duty. Services needed in Michigan catchment area consist of the following: Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Osceola, Claire, Lake, Mason, Antrim, Otsego, Kalkaska, Crawford, Grand Traverse, Kalamazoo, Van Buren, St. Joseph, Cass, Berrien, Branch, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Gratiot, Washtenaw, Lenawee, Shiawassee, Livingston, Jackson, Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Genesee, Monroe, Alpena, Cheboygan, Crawford, and Livingston Counties in Michigan, and Indiana catchment area of Elkhart and St. Joe Counties. Solicitation packages will be available on or about September 6, 2002. All requests must be submitted to the Contracting Officer in writing or by fax (616) 966-5518.
