- Sources sought Notice. Solicitation Number for this announcement is 292-03-P (CC)-0103. The National Institutes of Health is soliciting capability statements from qualified and interested firms to Renovate Buildings 6 and 6A and provide a new addition for 6C at the National Institutes of Health. Building 6 and 6A will be renovated for use as laboratories, offices and conference rooms. The renovated work is for laboratories including biotechnology, magnet and electron microscope sections. The new addition, Building 6C will include a zebra fish research area and a magnet area. Demolition work will include restrooms, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, walls, ceilings, doors, casework and other areas. New work will include floors, walls, ceilings, doors, casework, shelves, painting, plumbing fixtures, piping for steam, condensate, chilled water, air, gas, vacuum, drain, hot water and cold water, ductwork, lights, power, air handlers, pumps and various other components. The work in Building 6 includes complete gutting and renovation throughout the approximately 72,000 square foot structure. Building 6A is a partial renovation. The building is approximately 25,000 gross square feet. Some areas will have utility upgrades only. The building will remain occupied throughout the construction duration except work areas will be vacated while work is being done. The Building 6C addition is approximately 17,500 gross square feet on three levels Underground utilities and site work will also be required in support of the addition. This site is located at the National Institutes of Health, 9000 Rockville Pike, Center Drive in Bethesda, Maryland. Solicitation/RFP and all related documents will be available approximately (60-90) days from the date this notice is published. The National Institutes of Health, Division of Engineering (DES) will oversee the construction of this project. The project?s estimated price range is more than $10,000,000.000 Million for this construction project. The construction shall begin on or about April 2003, with a (26) month construction time period.
