- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for two Reverse Osmosis Desalinators. The capacity requirement is 1600 GPD (each), size and weights shall not exceed overall length: 60 inches (combined), overall height: 60 inches (combined and including membrane service area), overall width: 32 inches (each), Weight (dry): 450 lbs each, Weight (wet): 550 lbs (each). Each Desalinator must produce the specified quantity of potable water over 24 hrs of continuous operation when supplied with sea water with salt content not to exceed 3.7 percent at 77 degrees F after 40 days operation without shutdown for cleaning and without chemical feed treatment. This acquisition is for purchase of the Reverse Osmosis Desalinators for NOAA Ship Whiting, a 163 foot, 33 ft beam (molded); propulsion ? diesel, twin screw, electric service - 220kw, 225/450 volts AC, cruising speed 12 knots; crew size - 33. Vessel's homeport is Norfolk, VA. Delivery is required at the vessels homeport no later than 1/8/03. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued under full and open competition, commercial item acquisition procedures.
