The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Divisional of Clinical Sciences, Experimental Therapeutics Section plans to enter into a sole source contract with Marianne Porchynsky, Ph.D., Potomac, MD 20854. This procurement will provide continued technical support of studies using novel epothilone analog (BMS247550) developed by Bristole Meyes Squibb in patients with cervical cancer. The Experimental Therapeutics Section entered in to a CRADA with Bristol Meyes Squibb which has been underway for several years for the study of BMS247550. Dr. Poruchynsky will be responsible for: 1) extraction of RNA from small tissue samples; 2) extraction of protein from small tissue samples; 3) performance of western blot analyses; 4) performance of northern blot analyses; and 5) performance of assays to assess the extent of tubulin polymerization in peripheral mononuclear samples. Dr. Marianne Porchynsky has more than 20 years of research experience related to this trial and for the past several years has been associated with this study which makes her uniquely qualified to continue with this clinical trial. An original and one copy of the capability statements must be received in the contracting office by 1:00 p.m. EDT, on November 6, 2002. All questions must be in writing and can be faxed to (301) 402-4513 or emailed to dm170b@nih.gov . It is the vendor's responsibility to call (301) 402-4509 to insure questions have been received.
