- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for dockside repairs to be performed at Marine Operations Center, Atlantic, 439 West York Street, Norfolk, VA. The performance period will be 37 calendar days with a start date on or about January 14, 2003 and shall be completed on or before February 19, 2003. This acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the NOAA Ship WHITING, a 163 foot, 33 ft beam (molded); propulsion ? diesel, twin screw, electric service - 220kw, 225/450 volts AC, cruising speed 12 knots; crew size - 23. Vessel's homeport is Norfolk, VA. Basic contract items include Diesel engine exhaust system repairs, Boiler stack cleaning and maintenance, ventilation system cleaning and repairs, Switchboard breakers overhaul, Anchor windlass repairs, Miscellaneous steel renewals, A-frame load tests, Pressure vessels inspections, Survey acquisition joiner door modifications, Miscellaneous piping repairs, Desalination system renewals, Boat davit renewals and repairs, and Switchboard cleaning and meters/gauge cals. All work shall be performed in accordance with detailed specifications to be provided with the solicitation. Vessel will be available for inspection on November 26, 2002 at Norfolk, VA. This award is intended for a firm fixed price contract using sealed-bid procedures. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
