- NA The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center - Natick (NSC) has a requirement to purchase an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). NSC intends to negotiate an award with Foster-Miller Incorporated, Waltham, MA 02451-1104 on a basis of other than full and open competitio n for a quantity of one (1) TALON UGV system, which is solely manufactured and distributed by Foster-Miller. NSC has a requirement for only the TALON system as the purchase is being made so the Pathfinder office of the NSC can conduct required experiments with the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Special Operation Forces office. SOCOM currently has several TALON systems and in order for experimentation data to be compatible and to reduce variables in the experimentation process, NSC must purchase t he exact UGV unit that SOCOM is using. There is no solicitation document available for this acquisition. The applicable small business code is 334511 with a size standard of 750 people. Interested sources shall make any inquiries about this work no late r than 23 Oct 02. Reference note 22, as above is for the purchase of a commercial item (reference FAR Subpart 5.203), quotations received within seven (7) calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis shall be considered by the Army.
