- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to issue a full and open solicitation to procure all types of Distinctive Currency Paper for the printing of U.S. currency at the Washington, D.C. and Fort Worth, TX facilities. The solicitation provides for multiple and spilt awards by paper type. Resulting contracts will be fixed price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity multiyear contracts. The anticipated period of performance is October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2006. The solicitation will provide up to 24 months for start-up time. Material samples will be required with the submission of a proposal. It is anticipated that a solicitation will be issued and posted in August 2001. Public Law 100-440, Title VI 617 (a) requires that a contract for the manufacture of distinctive paper for United States (U.S.) currency may not be awarded to any corporation or entity owned or controlled by persons who are not citizens of the U.S., nor may distinctive paper for U.S. currency be manufactured outside of the U.S. For purposes of award of a contract, a corporation or other entity is presumed to be owned or controlled by citizens of the U.S. when domestic ownership or control constitutes at least 90%.
