Detectors shall have screw terminal type connections. Detectors shall be designed for surface outlet box mounting and supported independently of wiring connections. Audio-Visual Alarms: Audio-visual alarms shall be surface-mounted combination bell-lamp assemblies suitable for use in an electrically supervised circuit. Alarm bell shall be vibrating type with a sound output rating of at least 90 decibels at 10 feet. Lamps shall be the flashing type and powered from the control panel alarm signal circuit. Lamp bulbs shall be protected with a white thermoplastic lens. Audio-visual units shall have a separate screw terminal for each conductor used for making all connections. The word FIRE shall be lettered in red on the dome and be highly visible from three sides.
