Description
The Coast Guard intends to procure, on a sole-source basis, shipping information distributed monthly on computer readable magnetic tape. The date includes, but is not limited to, such information as ship's country of register, size, Lloyd's Registry Number, physical description, date of build, gross tonnage, callsign, design speed, owner/manager, registry number, flag, and radar/radio capability. Lloyd's Registry of Shipping is the only known source for accruate shipping information that can be provided in a timely and consolidated manner. The computer readable magnetic tape will permit access to current information that will be made available on-line to Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue (AMVER) and the Operations Systems Center and NOAA users. There is no other known alternative since Lloyd's is the sole source for the Registry Number and has supplied this information for over one hundred years. The proposed contract period would be 12 months for the following: (1) Magnetic Tape delivered monthly to the Operations Systems Center from October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003, (2) one (1) Lloyd's data tape for NOAA delivered quarterly from October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003. Other firms who can furnish these magnetic tapes are invited to submit clear and convincing data substantiating their capability to furnish the entire requirement. Vendors failing to provide complete information for an accurate comparison will not be considered.
