Description
The purpose of this modification is to make clarification of an issue raised. The intention in the design of the positioning system is to maximize use of space within the vacuum chamber. The "not to exceed 24 inches in any primary direction" restriction is for the physical dimensions of the positioning system, not of the extreme locations of the sample on top of the positioning stage. The range of motion of +/-6 inches is to allow us to work with a sample larger than the 6"x6" table surface. If possible, the surface of the positioning table should be the highest point in the design, so that none of the components in the positioning system would interfere with positioning a sample larger than the table surface.
