- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to purchase a non-lethal boat stopping barrier or perimeter for use around a Navy ship. This system is known as Running Gear Entanglement System (RGES). A sole source procurement to Diamond Nets, Inc., 1064 E. Pole Road, Everson, Washington 98247-9640 will be awarded as a result of this synopsis. A sole source procurement is necessary because Diamond Nets, Inc. is the only manufacturer able to meet the Navy's requirements. The RGES is fabricated using high strength Spectra@ rope in a specific configuration. No other company can provide this type of rope or manufacture the RGES. Award is to be made under simplified acquisition procedures on an all or none basis. The closing date is 15 October 2002. Anticipated award date is 22 October 2002. Pricing should be FOB Destination to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, VA 22448-5100. THE GOVERNMENT SHALL NOT ISSUE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR QUOTATION AS ALL ITEMS ARE IDENTIFIED IN THIS COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY (CBD) NOTICE. The Government will award a purchase order from this combined synopsis/solicitation to Diamond Nets, Inc. All responsible sources may submit their quote by e-mail in Microsoft Word format to xds13@nswc.navy.mil. E-mail should reference N00178-03-Q-3001.
