- NA The United States Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a firm fixed price contract for construction of wetlands at Milford Lake, near Wakefield, Kansas. All bids from responsible bidders will be considered (full and open competition for all business s izes). Tentative date for issuing invitation for bids is on or about 28 October 2002, with bid opening at 2:00 CST, on 03 December 2002. Work includes, but is not limited to, excavation/moving approx. 6,800 cubic yards of earth to build approx. 1,500 fee t of embankment, installing approx. 3 stoplog water control structures, placing approx. 10,000 square yards of turf reinforcement and erosion control blanket, and placing approx. 320 cubic yards of riprap. A formal pre-proposal site visit will be schedule d and announced when the solicitation is released. Project dollar magnitude is between $250,000 and $500,000. Hard copies of specifications and drawings, limited to one set per firm, will be available without charge on or about 28 October 2002. CD-ROM c opies will not be available.
