- Description
- The contractor shall provide Elevator Support Unit (ESU) Services: engineering, technical and repair support to accomplish specific requirements in support of maintenance and planning for the overhaul, modification and repair of elevator equipment and associated systems with for CV/CVN's and the associated battle group vessels in support of Supervisor Conversion Repair, Newport News (SUPSHIP NN). The contractor shall update and maintain configuration database systems, develop or update on board training curriculum, and conduct training on board naval vessels. The contractor shall provide logistic support to Ship's Force in identification and correction of material condition discrepancies to assure that elevators are in safe and proper operating conditions. Example of elevators: weapons elevators, aircraft elevators, personnel elevators, hangar bay divisional doors, and cargo elevators. Contract type will be an Indefinite delivery, Indefinite quantity, Cost Plus Fixed Fee type with task/delivery order provisions for a base period of 12 months with four 12 month option periods to extend. The estimated man hours for the base period is 334,000 reg and 11,275 overtime, first option period 350,700 reg and 11,839 overtime; second option period 368,235 reg and 12,431 overtime; third option period 368,235 regular and 12,431 overtime; and forth option period 368,235 regular and 12,431 overtime. The estimated period of performance start date shall be July 1, 2002 or soon thereafter. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 235950 and the size standard is $11.5 Mil. This procurement will be solicited as a negotiated procurement, Request for Proposal (RFP) N00189-02-R-0005, unrestricted. Large Business firms will be required to submit a Sub-Contracting Plan. Selection will be made based upon the offer providing the "greatest value" to the Government price and other factors considered. The solicitation will be posted on NECO web site located at: www.neco.navy.mil and FEDBIZOPPS located at: htpp://www2.eps.gov. The solicitation will not be mailed to offerors. The offerors are responsible for downloading the solicitation off of the web site. This requirement is a follow-on solictation to contract N00406-98-D-5012, awarded to AMSEC LLC of Virginia Beach, VA.
