- R- PROFESSIONAL, ADMINISTRATIVE, AND MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES -- U.S. Department of Commerce, USA Trade Center/BISNIS intends to procure services of an Regional Commercial Information Provider-Samara, Russia. BISNIS is the U.S. Government's primary information resource center for U.S. companies exploring business opportunities in Russia and other NIS countries, and Russian/NIS companies seeking U.S. business partners. A primary goal of BISNIS is to bring buyers and sellers together to facilitate successful business transactions. BISNIS has resulted in more than $3.0billion worth of U.S. export and investment transactions in the NIS since opening in 1992. BISNIS products and services include the monthly BISNIS Bulletin newsletter, the Search for Partners and Trades & Tenders lead programs, and a range of information on Russian and NIS regions, industry developments, and market access strategies. BISNIS distributes market information to interested representatives of U.S. companies by mail (30,000 recipients), email (several thousand), and via the BISNIS Internet web site, www.bisnis.doc.gov (more than one million hits per month). BISNIS representatives in the NIS and trade specialists in the United States (Washington, D.C.) identify, analyze, report, and counsel firms on market leads, developments, opportunities, strategies, and resources in order to foster U.S.-Eurasian business development (U.S. exports and U.S. business activities in Eurasia). NIS representatives are the primary BISNIS contact with local organizations. BISNIS has been providing for several years commercial reporting and leads from Samara for Southern Russia and the lower Volga region and intends to continue during FY2003. The contractor will be responsible for providing BISNIS each month with US export and partner leads, useful market updates, practical industry and regional reporting for Samara oblast and surrounding regions. The representative will also contribute to BISNIS Russian-language programs (Russian-language website and newsletter) and is expected to actively cultivate ties and work with business support resources and the local business community and media to increase local familiarity with and fruitful use of BISNIS services. The services will be for one base year with one option year. Qualifications include: Excellent English writing and speaking skills, familiarity with international business, ability to identify promising leads and prepare useful market reporting for US companies. Additionally, the position requires that a contractor/candidate show initiative, be able to work independently, communicate effectively with colleagues and contacts, and be results oriented. The winning contractor/candidate will be required to work at an office with full email access.
