Description
The purpose of this notice is to revise the equipment specifications for previously posted combined synopsis solicitation NTSBR020128. The specifications set forth in the original announcement are replaced in their entirety by the following. Basic description: Scanning electron microscope (SEM) with 1. capability of operating in both a high vacuum mode and variable pressure mode, 2. accelerating voltages variable at least within the range of 300 eV to 30 KeV, 3. minimum magnification less than 15X, maximum magnification greater than 20,000X 4. Fast Ethernet interface to existing lab network 5. digital image output for acquisition and storage in JPG format at a minimum of 1280 by 960 pixel resolution 6. two flat screen monitors for simultaneous viewing of different image sources and operating information. 7. Automated functions for all major beam control operations including at least i. Gun saturation, bias shift tilt ii. Focus correction for Z adjustment iii. Astigmation correction iv. brightness and contrast v. focus vi. Lens control Chamber size/stage: 1. Minimum scanning area of 4 inches (100 mm) by 5 inches (125 mm) (X-Y) 2. an interior volume of at least 10 inches by 11 inches by 5 inches (high), 3. a five-axis motorized stage with a 1 pound or greater weight capacity 4. a Z axis control that can accommodate and view a 3 inch tall specimen, 5. stage store and recall software for stage positions. 6. a port capable of accepting the existing Thermo WDS Ibex wavelength dispersive spectroscopy system, including all necessary interface devices a. Series: IBEX 7. a port capable of accepting the existing Thermo Noran EDS X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy system including al necessary interface devices. a. KEVEX: b. Model #: 3900-0292-0133 c. Serial #: 1195-6693 Microscope control: 1. Through a PC using either the keyboard or mouse, 2. joystick (X, Y, and Z), and 3. additional analog device to control focus, zoom and other functions. Vacuum System: Mechanical and turbo-molecular pumping system. Accessory Devices: 1. Probe current measurement and signal output to WDX system 2. Multi-element backscattered electron detector capable of compositional and topographic modes 3. secondary electron detectors that can be used in both high vacuum operation and variable pressure operation, 4. infrared camera and monitor system for viewing the chamber while under vacuum 5. color printer for preliminary viewing of images, 6. CD-RW 7. Spare Wehnelt assembly for quick filament changes Microscope electron source and performance 1. Tungsten Filament electron generator 2. Resolution at least 3.5 nm at 30 KV in high vacuum mode 3. Resolution at least 5.5 nm at 30 KV in variable pressure mode 4. Operating pressure of 1Pa to 270 Pa in variable pressure mode Other: 1. Installation 2. Onsite training 3. Comprehensive Off site training 4.
