Description
The Coast Guard intends to issue a Request for Proposal for the construction of the Hangar II Renovation at Air Station Kodiak, Kodiak Alaska. Demolition includes concrete slabs and walls, wood/glass/steel framing, asbestos and lead paint abatement, rail crane removal, building utility removal or capping. New construction includes a pre-engineered metal building, modular in-plant offices and exterior utilities. Equipment, storage and occupant relocations are included. The renovation construction includes pile driving, steel structural framing, concrete/metal decking, aluminum siding, steel/concrete stairs, metal stud gypsum partitions, fiberglass, wood and steel doors frames and hardware, steel windows, wood casework, supply deck coating, high density storage system, and a freight elevator. Architectural restoration of a 1940 era metal sash glass wall is included. Mechanical and Electrical systems include fire sprinklers, alarm and control systems, waste and sewer systems, steam distribution, ventilation ducting, plumbing fixtures, electrical distribution, interior lighting, communications and public address systems. The place of performance will be U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Support Command (ISC) Kodiak, Alaska. Contract duration is 420 days. The Government Estimate range is $5 to $10 million. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded to the offeror whose offer represents the best value to the Government based on price and past performance. This procurement is restricted to small business. The solicitation document will be available, on disk, approximately 23 July 2002.
