- The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract on a Sole Source basis to WindRiver Systems, 277 Main St., Marlboro, MA 01752 for an operating system utilized for the baseline Mk 48 COT-DV and Mk 54 Mod 0 torpedoes which consists of the following: VxWorks: Power PC7XX OEM, P/N 170-12974-NC, 1 each; Vxworks OEM License annual support and maintenance, P/N 130-12842-NN, 1 each; Tornado 2.02 Solaris/PPC Tornado Standard includes Core Tornado Tools, P/N 170-12691-1C, 5 each and Tornado Standard Annual Support and Maintenance, P/N 130-12840-NN, 5 each. The Government intends to issue a request for written quote to WindRiver Systems using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The anticipated award date is 9 Oct 2002. This action is being processed on a Sole source basis due to the fact that WindRiver developed the Tornado toolset. Tornado is copyrighted and owned by WindRiver. WindRiver is the only known company that can provide this software. Any Company that believes it has the capability to meet the Government's minimum requirements is invited to submit a quote for Government evaluation. All proposals from responsible sources will be considered. Telephone requests will not be honored. NAICS: 334111. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form.
