- Description
- The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs (Bureau), Office of Indian Education Programs (OIEP) has a requirement to provide Family and Child Education (FACE) utilizing the FACE Model with the K-3 component; conduct on site visits to support teachers in the child centered active learning approach, conduct principal/administrators trainings, and participate in a Trainer of Trainers program in order for individuals to become on-site mentors and future FACE K-3 trainers for the Bureau schools & agencies. There are approximately 32 Bureau Funded Schools located on various Indian Reservations, Nationwide that will require these services. The contractor will extend the child centered active learning approach through grade three with training designed to address the very specific knowledge and skills required to implement a child centered active learning approach for children ages 6-8. The contractor shall have a thorough working knowledge of the FACE model, the school program, and the current level of expertise of each Bureau K-3 classroom teacher implementing this model. All trainers shall have a Masters Degree in Education with a minimum of five years of teaching experience. The contractor shall have the expertise and the knowledge of the FACE K-3 component to train teachers in the FACE required child centered active learning approach which is specified in the FACE program guidelines. The period of performance will be from date of award through September 30, 2003 with four option year periods.
