- The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Request for Quotation number is SSA-RFQ-02-0581. This requirement is a 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 421430 with a business size standard of six (6) million dollars. Quotations submitted from other than small business sources will be rejected. All responsible small business sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered. This request for quotation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-09. Quotations in response to this RFQ shall be submitted on or before September 25, 2002, 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Quoters shall fax or Email their quotes to Kim Anderson. PURPOSE: The Government intends to purchase Sun ONE Web Server Edition software that will be used to run on various SUN servers located in Social Security Administration Headquarters complex in Baltimore (Woodlawn), Maryland 21235. LINE ITEM 1, Quantity: 26 each, Item Description: Part # IWSD9-LCO-JA99 - Sun ONE Web Server Enterprise Edition (formerly iPlanet) version 6.0 - Unlimited Users (priced per cpu - UNIX Flex-8, Content-4, Messaging-8, ISAT1 Test-1, Internet Test-1). LINE ITEM 2, Quantity: 26 each, Item Description: Part # IWEM9-MNT-9929 - Sun ONE Web Server Enterprise Edition (formerly iPlanet) Maintenance. LINE ITEM 3, Quantity: 1 each, Item Description: Part # AMB99-MNT-99D9 - Bronze Maintenance Kit. LINE ITEM # 4, Quantity: 1 each, Item Description: Part # IWSNM-600DJAK9 - Sun ONE Web Server Media & Docs. All quotes shall be submitted on a firm fixed unit and total price basis. The Government intends to award a purchase order without discussions and/or negotiations with the quoter that offers the best value to the government based on lowest price. The following Provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items (OCT 2002) (tailored) apply to this acquisition: (b) 1 - (b) 9, (b) 11, (c), (f) and (g). There are no addendums to these provisions. Offerors shall submit with their quotation a completed copy of the provisions at FAR 52-212-3, Offerors Representations and Certifications (MAY 2002). The provision at FAR Part 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions--Commercial Items (FEB 2002) apply to this acquisition. FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders--Commercial Items (MAY 2002) applies to this acquisition: (a) 1, (a) 2, and (b) 12 through (b) 15, (b) 18, (b) 21, and (b) 25.
