- Description
- NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation RFQ5-83051-904 for modification, installation, and maintenance of a micro-fabrication production management software system based on the Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) exchange operational software. This software system will be installed, made operational, and maintained by CNRI/MEMS exchange. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to procure the work from the Corporation for National Research Initiative (CNRI), under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. This requirement is to provide modifications to software, installation of this software, and software maintenance for the product. This software was developed by CNRI and is proprietary to CNRI. CNRI does not authorize any other company to modify their software or provide maintenance for their products. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on October 9, 2002. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
