- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees, NAICS Code is 336611 and the SIC is 3731. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the USCGC THETIS (WMEC-910), a 270 Foot "B" Class Medium Endurance Cutter. The Thetis is homeported in Key West, FL. All work will be performed at the vessel?s homepier. The performance period will be 42 calendar days with a start date of 17 February 2002. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC THETIS (WMEC-910). This work will include, but is not limited to: cleaning and inspecting diesel fuel, sewage and grey water collection tanks, cleaning shipboard ventilation systems, overhaul steering systems, anchor windlass assembly, and warping capstan assembly, inspect articulating crane, preserve ballast tanks, inspect and renew deck plating in auxiliary machinery spaces, renew cable hangers on mast and 03 level, repair #1 and #2 main diesel engine lube oil filter housing, repair main diesel engine exhaust stacks, renew air escape piping, renew vent ducting in aft steering, renew penetrations and install new valve in counter-measure wash-down system, install deck drain in galley, renew anchor chain short shot assemblies, renew MSB deck sheaves. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the present time, it is anticipated that this acquisition will be issued under full and open competition procedures. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 30 September 2002. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted in the CBD.
