Description
NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for two (2) each, p/n M125-1064-V01, Fiber coupled diode pumped ND;Yag Laser operating at 1064 nm with no piezo tuning and no noiseeater feedback circuit. This laser will include laser head, support electronics and end item data packages. Certified to withstand delta launch conditions; monilithic resonator linewidth: <25 KHz; Saptial Mode: Temoo. Additional specifications will include: wavelength - 1064 nm; longitudinal mode:=20 single frequency; polarization: linear (>100:1); frequency stability:= =20 <1MHz (30 second); Operating lifetime: 25,000 hours. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Lightwave Electronics, 2400 Charleston Road, Mt. View, CA 94043. The Lightwave Electronics Model 125 lasers are continuous wave, single frequency, narrow linewidth lasers developed for precision metrology and injection seeding of large pulsed q-switched lasers. The lasers identified in this procurement have undergone rigorous testing for space qualification as part of the troposheric emission spectrometer instrument. This testing makes these lasers uniquely qualified for the laser research and development applications such as seeding of the high brightness laser testbed. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on October 4, 2002. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
