- The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires the services of contractors to provide Medical Consultant (MC) Services in the specialties of Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Psychology, Pulmonary, and General Surgery. The services will be performed at the Social Security Administration Regional Office located in the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Building, 61 Forsyth Street, SW Atlanta, Georgia. This procurement will be for commercial services procured using the provisions of Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12. The contractor?s responsibilities will include providing oral and/or written consultations resulting from reviews of SSA disability case files; consulting with SSA medical policy staff related to the development of SSA disability policies; training other MC contractors and other personnel; working with Government and non-government agencies and/or medical or non-medical personnel that have related interests in providing input regarding SSA programs and its objectives. There will be no contact with patients. The period of performance will be January 1, 2003 or date of award, whichever is later, through December 31, 2003, with provisions for four one-year options. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about October 7, 2002. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 621111 and the size standard is $8.5M. Proposals received from other than small business concerns will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. The solicitation (and any amendments) will be available for downloading on the Fed Biz Opps (FBO) web page at www.eps.gov on the solicitation release date.
