Description
This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase one Optical Microscope System with the following specification and features: 1. For use in reflected and transmitted light. 2. Microscope body must have a minimum 8 inch throat depth. 3. Microscope shall have a rotating turret with objective lenses with magnifications of 5x, 10x, 20x, and 50x. The 50x objective shall be of the type with extra long working distance. 4. Microscope shall have an 8 inch mechanical stage with manual actuators. 5. Microscope shall provide both brightfield and darkfield optical paths. 6. Microscope shall have a polarizer that can be flipped in and out of the optical path. 7. Microscope system shall include a digital imaging system of at least 4 megapixels for reviewing on a personal computer. Imaging system shall include camera, acquisition software and camera-to-pc interconnecting hardware (e.g. pci card and cable, or usb cable). Note: NASA Goddard's Space Flight center customer will provide the personal computer. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-19. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 333314 and 500 employees, respectively.= =20 All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. Quotations for the items(s) described above are due by September 30, 2002 by 4:30pm E.S.T and may be mailed or faxed to Cassandra Atkinson, Bldg. 26, Room 235, Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD 20771 or fax at 301-286-1773, and include, solicitation number, FOB destination to this Center, proposed delivery schedule, discount/payment terms, warranty duration (if applicable), taxpayer identification number (TIN), identification of any special commercial terms, and be signed by an authorized company representative. If the end product(s) quoted is other and domestic end products(s) as defined in the clause entitled "Buy American Act--Supplies," the quoter shall so state and shall list the country of origin. FAR 52.212-5 is applicable. Unless otherwise stated in the solicitation, for selection purposes, technical, price and past performance are essentially equal in importance. It is critical that offerors provide adequate detail to allow evaluation of their offer (see FAR 52.212-1(b). Quoters must provide copies of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representation and Certifications - Commercial Items with their quote.
