- Description
- The National Naval Medical Center, (NNMC) Bethesda, MD intends to award a sole source procurement to Immucor, Inc. for red cell reagents and antiseras. The requirement is for the Laboratory Medicine, Blood Bank. The Blood Bank performs serological testing on patients and blood donors. This requires the use of specialized red cell reagents and antiseras that must meet potency and other requirements mandated by the Food and Drug Administration and the Navy Blood Program. These reagents are manufacturer unique and require specific procedures in testing. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. A copy of the solicitation can be viewed and downloaded at www.neco.navy.mil. Award will be made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures and contingent upon availability of FY 03 funding.
