- The United States Marshals Service, San Antonio, Texas intends to issue a solicitation for a Contractor to provide accurate title searches/ title information for the pre-seizure, seizure and forfeiture of property with the Federal Judicial district of the entire Western District of Texas. The Contractor must provide title searches when requested by the USMS, for the following Texas Cities, and their surrounding and requested counties, comprised of 67 counties. (Counties to be listed in RFQ) Austin, Del Rio, El Paso, Midland, Pecos, and San Antonio and Waco. Contractor must provide chain of history of property showing all grantors and grantees from the common source of title and copies of all deeds pertaining to the chain of history. Expedited requests will be provided within five workdays and title searches moving through the natural process shall be received in fourteen days. Actual quantities are unknown, Government estimate is 200, but may be higher or lower for the period of October 1, 2002 thru September 30, 2003. Contractor must have appropriate state and local licenses for handling these services. Contractor may not be an employee of the USMS or of the United States. In all respects, contractor is an independent contractor, as are any of his authorized subcontractors or employees. "A Request for Quotation" will be requested and it is anticipated that this award date shall be September 30, 2002. Award of contract will be made using FAR Part 12 and FAR 13 test program. The solicitation will be distributed through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Solicitation will be available September 23, 2002 and may be requested by fax. All small responsible sources are encouraged to respond to the solicitation. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to date information.
