Description
17. The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate with MDC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, for the necessary support to evaluate the impact of Center of Gravity and weight variations of the HARM missile. Evaluated information will include separation characteristics from selected aircraft store load configurations evaluated to-date in the F/A-18E/F (EMD) and Follow-on Flight Test and Evaluation (FOT&E) program phases. The analysis is planned to be conducted on no less than three aircraft load configurations as selected by the observed and measured separation trajectory characteristics of the HARM missile. The test conditions shall reflect those areas of the flight envelope where the characteristics of the missile were deemed most critical to the safe separation and subsequent system performance of the missile. McDonnell Douglas is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer for the F/A-18E/F. As such, they are the only known source possessing the requisite knowledge, experience, and special tooling required to provide the necessary analysis. The period of performance is expected to be from November 2002 through January 2003. The delivery order will be issued under N00019-G-98-0037. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. NAVAIR Synopsis number 20113-02. See Note 22.
