Description
NA The United States Army Yuma Proving Ground intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with SAIC, 1001 Executive Drive, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635-4991 for continued communications engineering support during the final phase of the Range Digital Transmission Sy stem (RDTS) development and installation. The SAIC support team has been supporting this major program since 1997 via a competitively awarded contract. Support includes, but is not limited to, requirement and engineering analyses; telecommunications netwo rk (voice and data support); hardware and software integration; configuration management; integrated logistics support; concept formulation and exploration; cost analysis and estimating, data collection, distribution, evaluation and storage; and system int egration and testing. Through the initial contract effort, SAIC has become an integral part of the Integrated Product Team process that meets to resolve challenges and provide direction for the RDTS effort. SAIC is uniquely positioned to provide the requ ired support because of their corporate knowledge of the specifics of the design and development of the RDTS that no other firm would be able to obtain without substantial duplication of effort. A fixed-price commercial contract is anticipated that will co mmence 01Nov2002, continue through 30Sep2003 and contain three one-year option periods. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may submit technical literature showing their capability to meet the government r equirement no later than 01Oct2002, 4:00 MST. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
