- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command is planning to follow the competitively awarded EMD phase with a sole source procurement for approximately six additional sensors from Recon Optical, Inc. (ROI) for integration into SHared Reconnaissance Pods. The Government intends to negotiate solely with ROI, Barrington, IL pursuant to Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source. The work to be performed requires the application of technical knowledge, expertise, and detailed familiarity with the design, specification, and fabrication of the sensor in order to meet fleet schedule requirements. Accordingly, ROI is the only source with the unique engineering expertise, and in-depth knowledge to fulfill the government?s requirement in the timeframe required.
