Description
Amended for quote response date: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Competitive quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not follow. RFQ# DAAE30-02-Q-0899 The US ARMY ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal has the following requirement: requires a more efficient way of breaking up slabs (that can be up to 2' X 3' and several inches thick) of synthetic rubbers and resins. A typical material is polyacrylate elastomer. Presently these slabs require cutting by hand into pieces small enough to be easily dissolved in organic solvents - a time consuming process. REQUIREMENT: the equipment sought will efficiently and safely reduce the slabs to significantly smaller pieces with a maximum volume of 2 cubic centimeters per individual piece. Shredder will be constructed of corrosion resistant materials or surface treated to prevent corrosion. Capable of breaking up slabs of elastomer materials with the following properties: a) 3'L, 2'W, 3'Thick; b) 50lbs; b)typically derived of Viton A (Dupont-Dow) and HyTemp 4051CG or 4451CG (Zeon Chemical). Shredder should be able a) to be operated remotely; b) to be affixed (bolted) to floor. Operation Manuals and Diagrams of equipment is required. ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS: a) 230v, 1 OR 3 Phase; b) Explosion proof motor for Class I, Group D and Class II, Group I. Feed and discharge port should be easily accessible. DIMENSIONS: Maximum including stands and support structures, not to exceed 7.5'L, 5'W, 6.5'H. Vendor will provide information that verifies that equipment meets above requirements. Additional information to be provided includes: a)capacity in pounds that can be handled in one cycle; b) time of cycle; c)description and price of any additional equipment shredder requires for proper operation. Vendor is to state whether installation is to be performed by vendor or authorized representative. If vendor installed, price equipment and installation separately, and time required to perform installation. If no installation provided by vendor, vendor must include written installation instructions that will allow trained craft workers (electricians, welders, etc.) to properly perform the equipment installation. DELIVERY: Within 60 days from award of contract. Vendor to notify TACOM-ARDEC two weeks before delivery to allow personnel to make final site preparations. Delivery address: US ARMY TACOM-ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, Bldg 1509. EVALUATION CRITERIA: Lowest Price Technically Acceptable.
