William Mills, 703-428-3080. DESC: 1. The Military Traffic Management Command (MTMC) has a requirement to solicit rates and services for the procurement of intermodal container and break bulk services for the carriage of Department of Defense cargo between CONUS points and ports and the commercial terminal in the Port of Praia, Azores. Carrier must maintain regularly schedule U.S. Flag liner service throughout the period of the contract via a self-sustaining or self-geared vessel(s). The Government will ship in addition to break bulk of various sizes, 20' dry and controlled atmosphere containers as well as 40? dry and refrigerated containers. 2. The proposed solicitation is 100% set aside for small business concerns. 3. The solicitation is expected to be released on or about 01 November 2002. No paper copy will be issued. All Request for Proposals (RFP) and related documents may be downloaded at the following website: http://www.mtmc.army.mil/ 4. A preproposal conference is tentatively scheduled for 13 November 2002.
