Description
The purpose of this notification is to amend synopsis/ solicitation number N00173-02-R-RS03 for a Pedestal Tracking Mount, previously posted in the FBO on 29 April 2002. This amendment is numbered 0002. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to technical and business questions posed against the original synopsis/solicitation. Question 1: Is it the Government's intent to operate the system in a slaved mode of operation? Answer 1: The system will be a custom-built IR camera and tracker electronics system. It will be similar to the visible camera and tracker called for in the option. It is anticipated that the custom electronics will need the same interface that would be provided by the option tracker. Question 2: The 6 degree FOV with a typical CCD camera yields an IFOV of 139 uradians. This is not consistent with a < 50 uradian tracking capability, assuming a 1 pixel AVT tracking accuracy. In order to meet the required tracking accuracy either a megapixel camera or a longer focal length lens with a smaller FOV would have to be used. Please comment on this. Answer 2: The specification for the pedestal is the driving factor for this acquisition. The pedestal, with or without tracker, shall be capable of the 50 microrads requirement. Offerors should provide a cost effective FOV which is consistent with the specification. No other changes are made in the synopsis/solicitation. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (17-MAY-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 11-SEP-2002.
