Subject: Motorola Astro Spectra Consolette SOLNBR:5TC1502137 RespDate:September 16, 2002 Contact:Mark Sojka, Contracting Officer, 312-353-7735 Desc: GSA FTS Region 5 is announcing its intent to issue a procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302.3 for a sole source acquisition to Motorola, Inc. 7230 parkway Dr., Hanover, Maryland, 21076. The products and services required for work to be accomplished are: Motorola items needed for the replacement and maintenance of existing equipment of the INS enforcement radio systems at several district locations. This change is needed due to a new legal requirement. The requirement is that all federal law enforcement agencies be able to interact on same radio channels for immediate communications. Required parts are only available from Motorola for the existing radio communications system. This requirement is identified by reference number 5TC1502137. NAICS Code 4214 [Professional and Commercial Equipment and Supplies Wholesale] applies. Size standard is 500+ employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals by the designated response date. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future, if another requirement arises. Responses are due no later than September 16, 2002, 3:30 p.m. Central Standard Time, to GSA/FTS (Region 5), Attention: Mark Sojka, 230 South Dearborn St., Rm. 3380, Chicago, ILL, 60604.
