Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to purchase from A Systems Communication Company (ASCC), 130 Wisconsin Ave, Cranberry TWP, PA 16066, access to internet connectivity from ASCC to support the CDC project offices internationally on a sole source basis FAR 6.302-1. Connectivity must include but not be limited to Africa, Asia, South America and the Carribbean. This connectivity will provide bandwidth of 512k upstream and 4mb downstream. This link will provide internet access to the CDC Global AIDS Program office and provide a mechanism for the transmission of email between CDC Headquarters Atlanta to the afore referenced international countries and will combine all remote sites into a single logical network at a teleport based in the United States. Link will also be used to implement voice of IP technology and future video conferencing. The geographical location of the teleport decides the cost of gateways to public switched telephone networks. The compatibility, interoperability and integration of all links is crucial. ASCC is the only known source for this requirement. This posting is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists. Vendors who believe that they can provide this data are encouraged to identify themselves by giving written notification to the Contracting Officer with 15 days of posting/publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information faxed to Shirli R.
