- NA Using a purchase description, TACOM proposes to acquire for the Project Manager-Heavy Tactical Vehicles ( PM-HTV),100 each HEMTT CHUs; in FY 02-FY 05. The description covers Container Handling Units that attach to the Palletized Load System ( PLS) Truck ( M1075) and the HEMTT-LHS M1120 using the Load handling System (LHS) as the lifting and loading mechanism. These kits allow the PLS truck to pick up and transport 20 foot ISO containers at a gross weight of 36,250 pounds and the HEMTT-LHS truck to pick up and transport 20 foot ISO containers at a gross weight of 24,000 pounds with Hcg 100 inches rearward of the outside front wall. TACOM proposes to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract modification for the M1120 HEMTT LHS CHU KIT with Oshkosh Truck Corporation of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Oshkosh Truck Corporation will be required to submit a Small Business/ Small Disadvantaged Business Subcontracting Plan for approval to ensure that it obtains as much competition as possible in its subc ontracting for the M1120 HEMTT LHS CHU KIT requirement.
