Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to award a sole source purchase order to John Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is to be issued under FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. NIEHS will participate in support of this ongoing study with John Hopkins University to determine the susceptibility to Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infection in children, with most severe infections occurring in young infants. This study will examine the role of toll-like receptor 4 in RSV lower respiratory tract disease. In addition to John Hopkins University, the other participating institutes in this study are two institutes located in Buenos Aires, Argentina: Servicio de Neonatologia e Internacion Pediatrica (SENIP), French Hospital, and Hospital Materno-Infantil San Isidro (HMISI), Hospital Boulogne (HB), Hospital La Cava (HLC). All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 10 days of date of notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with John Hopkins Univ. The NAICS Code/Size is 541690/$6.0M.. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. There is no solicitation package available.
