Description
The following questions, received in response to Request for Quotation M00146-02-Q-9020, and the Government responses are hereby provided for your information: 1) Of the 36 single and 75 two seat canopies to be cleaned, what has been the minimum and average number of canopies cleaned per order / event? Answer: The number of canopies per quarter is estimated at 25-30. 2) What is the average frequency per aircraft on which the requirement is based? For instance, is it once a year for 111 separate aircraft, once every three months for 34 aircraft, or once a month for 18 aircraft? Answer: It is anticipated that each of the 111 aircraft will require refurbishment at least once per year. 3) Will the canopy cleaning be accomplished during regularly scheduled maintenance, or on a call-when-needed basis? Answer: The maintenance will be scheduled once per quarter. 4) Regarding the three (3) hour completion requirement, how much advanced notice will normally be given by the MALS to the contractor? Answer: The quarterly maintenance will be scheduled in advance. The movement of the aircraft during this time will be coordinated between the government and the contractor. The three (3) hours completion time required for each aircraft will begin once the government turns the aircraft over to the contractor. 5) Are there proposed/preferred hours of service and availability, like 7 am to 3pm (Monday to Friday) or 24 /7? Answer: To avoid conflict with aircraft flight schedules, the contractor will be required to perform refurbishment of approximately 75% of the canopies after 4:30 p.m. Weekend performance will not be required, but will be allowed at the contractor's request. 7) The solicitation indicates that a Secret Clearance will NOT be required. What level security clearance would be required of contractor personnel? In the event that contractors submit personnel who have not been previously cleared, will an approved escort be provided during the interim period between submission of clearance documents and final approval? Answer: Employees performing under this contract shall be required to obtain a standard visitor pass from Provost Marshall Office. Note: The closing date for receipt of proposals in response to this solicitation has been extended to 26 April 2002. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (17-APR-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 05-SEP-2002.
