Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. The Naval Air Warfare Center Lakehurst is requesting information pertaining to the feasibility of a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) reliable, mobile, trailer-mounted diesel air conditioning unit to be utilized at Navy shorebase facilities. The air conditioning units shall have a cooling capacity range of 20 - 40 tons. The air conditioner must be able to operate in ambient temperatures ranging from 0 - 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and provide cooled air at 45 - 75 degrees Fahrenheit (sliding scale based on ambient temperature). For the purposes of this RFI there are no size or weight restrictions. However, the need to transport this equipment to forward deployed forces and/or store and transport in a shipboard environment will necessitate some size, weight, and reliability selection criteria in future RFP's. There is a requirement for the unit to deliver heated/dehumidified air. The air conditioner shall operate with R-134a refrigerant. The air conditioner shall be capable of operating off multi-fuel types, including JP-5, JP-8 and diesel fuel.
