- Description
- It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to negotiate on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 6.302 with the Altum, Inc., 14901 Bogle Drive, Suite 104, Chantilly, Virginia for the professional services in the support of ChemIDplus system. The ChemIDplus database is a public-access web-based search system that provides access to structure and nomenclature to identify chemicals cited in NLM?s databases and in major government resources. The database contains over 351 chemical records of which over 150,000 include chemical structures data. Specifically, the contractor will improve 1) stability of the system, 2) upgrade and maintain the DBMaint system including the addition of chemical updates to DBMaint, 3) create XML data on request, 4) track usage of ChemIDplus by server statistics and type of queries made and 5) upgrade the search interface. The NLM determined that Altum, Inc. is uniquely qualified to perform the above professional services. Altum, Inc. has over five years experience with the ChemIDplus database and MDL structure data interface. Altum, Inc. has maintains professional staff with the knowledge and abilities of the database structure and Chemscape Server ISIS/Host relational database. Altum, Inc. has been performed these services to the NLM for the last five years. This service will be procured under FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisitions.) This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsible and responsive sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide the professional technical services as specified above. Responses should demonstrate the firm?s ability to meet the government?s requirements. Responses are required within 15 (fifteen) calendar days from the publication date of this notice. NLM synopsis No. 02-213/SAN shall be noted on all correspondence to this announcement.
