Description
The U.S. Department of Energy, Albuquerque Operations Office, Office of Customer and Technology Services (OCTS) intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Advanced Communications & Electronics, Inc. of 2417 Baylor Drive SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106, for a turnkey project to procure, install and test radio equipment and cabling that will improve and extend radio signal and strength in the DOE complex (specifically in the basements of buildings 381, 382, 383, 384 and 385). The radio system currently utilized at DOE/AL is a Motorola Smart-Net Trunking System and four existing UHF Motorola radio systems. The trunking system was procured on a competitive basis, however it uses Motorola proprietary radio protocols and software. These protocols limit the system to only Motorola authorized equipment. Per Motorola, the only authorized Motorola service provider in the greater Albuquerque area is Advanced Communications and Electronics, Inc. DOE contemplates award of a single, Firm Fixed Price purchase order for these goods and services. The acquisition is a total (100%) small business set-aside. The NAICS Code is 513322 with a corresponding size standard of 1500 employees. Performance must be in accordance with the Statement of Work attached at the DOE IIPS site. Work is to be completed within 90 days after award. The Government estimates that the total cost of performance will not exceed $100,000. Electronic proposals must be submitted via the IIPS site, available online at http://e-center.doe.gov/. It is the offeror?s responsibility to monitor the IIPS site for release of RFQ amendments (if any). For further assistance and instruction on the use of the IIPS site, the on-line help document is available at http://e-center.doe.gov/doebiz.nsf/Help?OpenPage. Responses/offers are due no later than 3:00 P.M. Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) on September 20, 2002. For all questions, please contact Evan Dunne, Contract Specialist, at (505) 845-4798 or by email at edunne@doeal.gov.
