Description
This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-02-Q-6346. NUWC Division Newport intends to purchase the following items:Induction Heater required to heat a steel tube assembly to approximately 300 degrees F to break down an epoxy bond on the steel tube OD and a rubber sleeve 1/4 inch thick. Heating may be completed by several "pulse" cycles as not to overheat the sleeve or the components contained within the steel sleeve. Steel sleeve OD 4.375". Rubber sleeve over the steel parts increases OD to 4.875". Heated length along tube 1 1/2". Required delivery is 4 to 6 weeks after award, F.O.B. Destination to EDO Electro-Ceramic Products, 2645 South 300 West, Salt lake City, UT 84115. This is 100% set-aside for small business. NAICS Code is 332811; size standard is 750 employees. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2000-07. FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors--Commercial Items applies. Evaluation will be in accordance with FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation--Commercial Items. Evaluation factors are technical capability, price and past performance. Each is equally important. A completed copy of FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications--Commercial Items must be submitted with quote. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions--Commercial Items and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders--Commercial Items, and DFARS 52.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial Items apply. Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating of DO-C9 applies.
