Description
The National Park Service intends to issue two prospectuses for commercial services in Grand Teton National Park. One prospectus will generally cover the services and facilities currently operated by Grand Teton Lodge Company; a second prospectus will generally cover the services and facilities currently operated by Signal Mountain Lodge. The prospectuses are expected to be issued prior to the start of the 2003 operating season when most facilities will be closed or inaccessible. In order to allow prospective offerors the opportunity to see the facilities while they are open, a pre-bid site visit is scheduled for Wednesday October 2, 2002. The site visit will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Training Room in the Maintenance Building behind Park Headquarters in Moose, Wyoming. Following an overview of the two business opportunities and an explanation of the bidding process, there will be the opportunity to tour some of the related facilities. Neither of the current operators has a preference in the renewal of its contract. Grand Teton Lodge Company is the largest concessioner in Grand Teton National Park. The average gross receipts over the past three years are approximately $25 million dollars. Facilities under management currently include lodging at Colter Bay, Jackson Lake Lodge and Jenny Lake Lodge, an RV park, tent cabins, a marina, five restaurants, a bar, eight retail outlets, a grocery store, two corrals, three service stations, bus tours, boat tours, guided float and fishing trips, employee housing and other services. The three-year average gross receipts for Signal Mountain Lodge is approximately $4 million dollars.
