- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract with Hamilton Sundstrand under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-00-G-0174 to procure approximately 150 Kits (Part Number PLK28226) to retrofit the 54460 Propeller System with a new Valve Housing Speed Servo Governor Assembly. These kits provide for re-design of the duplex bearing to ensure applied loads are shared between the bearings to reduce pre-mature wear resulting in in-flight shut down. Hamilton Standard is the designer, developer and manufacturer of the 54460 propeller system which is part of the E-2C aircraft propulsion system. Hamilton Sundstrand has a forty year investment in the design, development, production and maintenance of the E-2C propeller. Additionally, Hamilton Sundstrand is the only known source capable of performing the non-recurring engineering and production of the engineering change required to eliminate the in flight shutdown problem within the timeframe required.
