Description
Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to replace the fixed walkway at USCG Station Siuslaw River, Florence, OR. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: (a) Demolish and remove the existing 92 ft -8 in x 5 ft pile-supported timber walkway leading from the shoreline to the existing boathouse. Do not demolish the existing timber piles at bents 16 and 17; (b) Demolish and remove the existing 34 ft x 5 ft inclined timber walkway leading from the existing pavement to the shoreline; (c) Install a new 92 ft -8 in x 10 ft -0 in fiberglass grated deck and the existing utilities. The deck height is approximately 15 ft -8 in above MLLW, but shall be matched to the existing boathouse deck elevation; (d) Install six new 18 in diameter coated steel piles to support the new walkway. Add cross-bracing to the new piles. Provide one extra 60 ft coated pile in the event that extra pile is needed to meet the blow count requirements; (e) Install a new 34 ft x 5 ft inclined, coated steel walkway leading from the existing pavement to the new walkway; (f) Install a new 36in high, 1-1/2 in diameter aluminum pipe handrail along both sides of the walkway; (g) Re-install the existing gangway onto the new steel walkway. The estimated cost of this procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000. Performance period is 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Process. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to large and small business participation. The applicable NAICS code is 234990, Small Business size standard is $27.5 million. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered. The solicitation can be downloaded from (http://www.eps.gov) on approximately 17 September. If it does not appear on that date, please check back dail. Due date for bids will be 17 October 2002.
