-  This is a Notice of Intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #0036442. The provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 01-08. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)and is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334119 and the Business Size Standard is 1,000 employees. This will be an all or none Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Accuscope Instrument Company, Frederick, MD 21705, for a quantity of 15 - Versa-Cam2 (brand name) Model # AD900K-digital camera system. Technical Specifications: the digital imaging system integration consist of Digital/Video/Mpeg Camera w/4.3 million pixel Super CCD Technology (2400 x 1800 resolution); 3x optical & 3.75x digital zoom; 2" color LCD Monitor-including integrated universal microscope interface with rotating interchangeable lens turret, 16mb memory card; 2 rechargeable AA batteries; battery recharger; PC & MAC cables; Video-Out cable for Optional External video Monitor; Software for basic Image processing; Carry/Storage Case; Manual Cable Release Attachment; A/C Adapter; Floppy Disk Adapter; Goose Clamp; and High Mag MacroZoom Lens w/zoom range of .8x through 3.65x relative to LCD size aspect ratio. (Field of view width-45mm at low end of zoom and 11mm at high end of zoom). The Versa Cam2 cameras w/kits must be compatible with existing Versa Cam camera systems and its picture print center. Standard Commercial Warranty is required. Delivery -to Cheverly, Maryland, 20781.-- Offeror need to indicate FOB Destination or FOB Origin w/estimated shipping charges. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received wihin twelve (12) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The following FAR clauses and provisions are incorporated by reference and apply to this acquisition (Note: full text of all Clauses and Provisions can be accessed via the Internet using the following website:http://www.acqnet.gov)--FAR Provision at 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors -Commercial Items (OCT 2000); FAR Clause 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (MAY 2002); and FAR 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders - Commercial Items (MAY 2002). Each offeror shall include a completed copy of the FAR Provisions at 52.212-3,Offeror Representation and Certifications (JULY 2002) with its offer.
