Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Radiant Detector Technologies, of Northridge, CA, for acquisition of one (1) High Performance, Research Grade Silicon Drift X-ray Detector for a Phi Auger Microscope. The System will be used by the Surface and Microanalysis Science Division, at NIST, to develop advanced microanalytical methods for the rapid characterization of materials.*****Delivery shall be FOB Destination, and be made within 180 days after receipt of order (ARO)*****Sole source determination is based on the need for a Silicon Drift X-ray Detector (SDD) that is 100% compatible with an existing high-speed, x-ray analysis system that has been custom designed to operate with the Radiant SDD detector. The Radiant SDD detector is necessary to maintain system integrity and continuity of existing instruments and components used by NIST's Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory (CSTL). Radiant Detector Technologies is uniquely qualified to provide the required high performance, research grade, silicon drift x-ray detector.*****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 Employees.*****No solicitation package will be issued.
