- GovWorks intends to award this requirement to BiTMICRO Networks, Inc. on a sole source basis, however all alternate quotes will be considered. The Flight Test Branch of RTTC will use this hardware in support of various missile test programs both on and off Redstone Arsenal. The purpose of this hardware is to develop a component of ROCIT referred to as Range in a Box. The Range in a Box provides a wireless downrange control and status capability that can be used at TA-1 or at any unimproved range. RTTC believes that no other manufacturer can provide this type of solid state disk storage solution due to the requirements to operate at -45 degrees C to 85 degrees and handle a 1,500G shock. These specifications are required for a successful design. Award to any other vendor other than BitMICRO Networks would require a redesign to meet the above requirements at a substantial duplication of costs that would not likely be recovered through open competition. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 2.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. GovWorks,Procurement Operations Branch, Dept of the Interior is procuring for Redstone Technical Test Center, Redstone Arsenal, AL, the following components for shipment to Huntsville, AL., within 90 days after award: 2560MB E-Disk, PN 2A33, 2 each with additional 20% for Industrial Grade - 2 each. All shipping and handling costs must be included in the quoted firm-fixed-price. Commercial item FAR clauses 52.212-1, -3, -4, & -5 apply to this solicitation. Submit your quote by e-mail or fax to the Contract Specialist, Linda Butler, at lindabutler@windyhillcontracting.com, Fax: 540-727-8046. Specify RFQ number and the Offeror's POC and telephone and facsimile numbers and e-mail address in the request. Payment of invoices against the contract will be through electronic funds transfer, and company DUNS and TIN numbers are required prior to award. All responsible and responsive offers will be considered. GovWorks is a Federal Franchise Fund Contracting Office under the authority of the Government Management Reform Act and as such provides contracting support to all Federal agencies. To be considered your quote must be received by COB September 4, 2002.
