- Description
- The Air Armament Center (AAC) Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) Program Office, AAC/YU, anticipates awarding a contract to McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a Wholly-Owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, for continued technical support to provide JDAM with engineering, production, management, and logistics support required to ensure technical baselines remain current and effective, along with feasibility of future growth requirements/changes. This effort is required through completion of JDAM production (estimated FY11). This effort is anticipated to be awarded under multiple contract types such as Time and Material and Firm Fixed Price for a period not to exceed 8 years. Tasks include (as required): evaluation of policy, budget and GFE obsolescence impact on production engineering baselines, analysis of technical issues arising between production hardware and previously integrated aircraft, and repair of government damaged assets. The McDonnell Douglas Corporation subsidiary of The Boeing Company is the only company that has the detailed knowledge necessary to provide the needed support. No Government-owned technical data package exists to allow any other companies to become knowledgeable about the JDAM design.
