- Description
- The Department of Energy (DOE) intends to award a purchase order to Buttonwood Consulting, Inc. Dublin, OH, under other than full and open competition, and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements on a sole-source basis. Dr. Dennis Bley, of Buttonwood Consulting, will provide a full-standing member to the DOE's Generation IV Evaluation Methods Group, a team of experts with widely different views on evaluation approaches. Dr. Bley's unique capability is attributed to his expertise in safety assessments, and probabilistic risk assessments for nuclear systems, as well as his reputation in the nuclear industry, recognition of accomplishments, ability to think creatively, and the ability to work with and lead other distinguished group members. The period of performance is 12 months. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
